icen-deactivated20101118: In response to the latest comment you answered to anonymous (about being mean/rude towards non-veg*ns), which you don't have to post at all if you don't want. XD
I think one way that non-veg*ns should try to look at the standpoint of veg*ns (and which is just a whole different perspective) is this: stereotypical American society (I use America because it's what I'm used to) tells us that all veg*ns are assholes. They are all elitist persons that are usually rich, or left-wing in some fashion, or even LGBTQQ. They might also just be nuts. They are all whack-jobs that want to act holier-than-thou in front of everyone and make you feel guilty for eating meat/animal products.
I mean, can ANYONE think of a character or advertisement in media were veg*ns weren't shown as absolute shitbags to other persons? Because I can't think of any good representation in the media. (I am thinking of "Danny Phantom"; the goth character Sam who was a vegetarian. She reminded me of myself because in high school I was "goth" and a vegetarian lol.) But tell me honestly: what HAS media told you about veg*ns?
So if you question why you think veg*ns are being assholes, try and look at it from that perspective too. Often times when veg*ns whine about omnivores, it's because they are generally frustrated by people treating them like crap and the fact that their basic beliefs are disregarded every single day of their lives in modern society. That and they probably live around people who aren't veg*ns. (I know I can't always be around my parents when they eat dinner because they eat meat.) So they may moan and groan about it in a journal or to close friends.
Of course you are always gonna have that "vegan asshole friend" who is just mean in general. So instead of going "Hey, the veganism is making them an ass!" why not try to figure out overall if this person is simply holier-than-thou in all situations? I think usually that would be the case.
Sorry, long post is long. XD
