A change in policy: Twitter announced Thursday that it would begin restricting Tweets in certain countries, marking a policy shift for the social media platform that helped propel the popular uprisings recently sweeping across the Middle East.

“Starting today, we give ourselves the ability to reactively withhold content from users in a specific country while keeping it available in the rest of the world,” the Twitter blog said.

Not cool.

It’s scary when corporations start to censor people. It’s terrifying that the interest of the people is in direct conflict with the people in charge of corporations/government (what’s the difference now?). It really has become a class war and they are pulling out all the stops. By restricting our best means of organizing a revolution, they are sending a clear message. Do not revolt. This message only reinforces my beliefs, we are correct in revolting. All of us in every country! This is not right and it isn’t going to stop. People who think that we can just let things like this slide are sorely mistaken. If we let them censor our tweets, they censor our spirits and our minds. By censoring someone elses tweet, you are restricting information from entering my brain space and that is not ok with me.
Not at all.
